The death is announced of the English stallion Wisdom, by Blinkhoolie - Aline, by Stockwell. Wisdom was foaled in 1873. On the turf he proved a failure, and at the stud he was neglected till his daughter Florence won the Cambridgeshire of 1884. Then came Veracity and Wiseman, who credited their owners with the Lincolnshire Handicap in two successive years. Wisdom’s son Surefoot, won the Two Thousand Guineas, and in the following season won the Eclipse Stakes. Wisdom also sired Sir Hugo, the Derby winner of last year.
