Auckland Glove Contest.
At the Auckland Police Court yesterday,
before Dr. Giles/R.M., the charge of manslaughter against John Nicholson, Arising: out’of the recent Nicholson Forgie boxing match,‘‘Was further gone into. John Nicholson Was : charged that on the 11th April at Auckland he did feloniously kill - and' ‘ J slay 1 one Richard Campbell Forgie; and Lindsay Cooke, Richard John G. Sandhll,’ Wm. Burns,- John Wakefield, 1 Win. McManemim. John McConnell, WilHam Z O’Meara, * Frederick JI Paltridge, James ’Saxon and Frank Burns were then and there present, unlawfully aiding and abetting the said John Nicholson to do and eommit the said offence. Mt J. A. McAlister appeared on behalf of the Cro#n. ,;n, Mr T. Cotter represented Nicholson and all'the defendants, with the exception of Messrs Cooke and field/Mr F; Baume appearing for Cooke and Mr Theo. Cooper* for Wakefield. • i The witnesses examined were J. Gallagher; hbtelkeeper. who was stakeholder of the money put up by the combatants ; Constable Hutchinson, Constable Lamb and the deceased’s brother. After a lengthy hearing the R.M. adjourned the case till l to-day. The court Was densely crowded 1 • throughout the whole proceedings.y- ’?• -
