At the North Canterbury Jockey Club’s Autumn Meeting, on Thursday last, Artillery’s daughter Foresight, who distinguished herself by winning three races at the Canterbury Jockey Club’s Autumn Meeting last month, carried 8.2 to the front in the Jockey Club Handicap of Bosovs, one mile and a half. Crown Jewel, 7.8, was second, and Duuoon, 6.10, third ; the other starters being Cajolery 8.12, Retina 8.6, and The Lumper 7.7; Foresight was also successful in the Ashley County Handicap of 4osovs, 1 mile, Dunoon running second to her. Whisper’s two-yeaa-old halfsister Busybody by Apremont—Tell Tale brought off a double, winning the Maiden Plate of 2ssovs, 7 furlongs, and the Flying Handicap, of 6osovs, 6 furlongs. In the latter race St. Clements’ brother St. Satan was second, carrying 7.0 to the winner’s 6.7.
