AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.

Mr Pekcivai. had a capital entry list to produce on Friday night for the Grand National Hurdle Handicap of 250sovs, 2 miles, and Great Northern Steeplechase of 400sovs, about three miles and a half, to be run at the Auckland Racing Club’s Winter Meeting on June 3 and 7. The strength of the entry for the Hurdles is 24, while the Steeplechase shows one more. Last year there were 37 in the Hurdles and 23 in the Steeples, so that there is a material falling off in the former event, but the quality is undeniably superior. All the hurdles and chasers of note in the North Island—with the exception of Fishmonger, who is now turned out for a spell—are entered, and in addition we have the Southerners Norton and Kulnine both in the Hurdle Race, and Norton in the Steeplechase. The weights for both races are due tomorrow.
