Tradesmen’s Plate Handicap of 80 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs out of the stakes. Entrance 1 sov, and acceptance 1 sov each, to go to the funds. For three-year-olds and upwards. One mile and a distance. Northern Champagne Stakes of 200 sovs; added to a sweepstake of 10 sovs each ; 5 sovs forfeit or no liability if declared by 8 p.m. on the night of general entry. The second horse to receive 30 sovs, and third horse 10 sovs from the stake. For two-year-olds. Colts 8.10, fillies 8.8, geldings allowed 51bs. The forfeit (5 sovs) to be declared and paid to the A.R.C. Secretary by 12 noon on the day before the race, or the nominator will be liable for the whole stake. The winner of the Auckland or Canterbury Welcome Stakes, or the Great Northern Foal Stakes, or any race not a handicap, of the advertised value of 200 sovs, to carry 71bs extra. Closed. Six furlongs. Easter Handicap of 300 sovs; added to a sweepstakes of 5 sovs each. Second horse to receive 50 sovs and third horse 15 sovs out of the stakes. For three-year-olds and upwards. Entrance 2 sovs, and acceptance 3 sovs each, to go to the funds. The winner of any race of the value of 100 sovs, after the declaration of the weights, to carry 31b extra ; of 200 sovs, 51b; of 100 sovs and one of 200 sovs, 71bs extreme penalty.
