Winner of Cup to carry 71b penalty. 6. Selling Hurdles of 15 sovs. Entry, 15s. Distance, about 1J miles. Over six flights of hurdles. Four-year-olds to carry list 71b, five-year-olds to carry 12st 51b, six-year-olds and aged to carry 12st 111 b. Winner to be sold immediately after the race for £5O. If entered to be sold for £4O. allowed 71b ; if for £3O, allowed 141 b ; if for £2O, 211 b ; if for £lO, 281 b ; if for nil, 351 b. Half proceeds over selling price to go to second horse. 7. Flying Stakes of 15 sovs. Nomination, 6s; acceptance, 9s. Distance, about threequarters of a mile. Winner of Cup to carry 101 b penalty; winner of Plate to carry 71b penalty. Penalties not cumulative. CONDITIONS. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdles, Ngaruawahia Cup, Ngaruawahia Plate and Flying Stakes to be sent to the Secretary, Ngaruawahia, before 9 p.m. on 7th January 1893. to appear on or about the 10th January, 1893’ Acceptances to be declared before 9 p.m. on January 14th, 1893, the day of general entry. Five per cent deducted from all stakes to go towards improving the racecourse. The meeting held, and all races run, subject to the rules of Auckland Racing Club. No entry- shall be received except on this condition: That all disputes and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards or those whom they may appoint. Entries, nominations, and acceptances must be accompanied by the necessary cash or cheque. Special attention & drawn to this rule, as there will be no exception. The attention of horse-owners is particularly drawn to the following rule -.—That the pedigree, age, performances and colours must accompany the nomination of every horse. Bookmakers’ fee, 10s 6d.
