The totalisator tax paid by the D.J.C. over the recent Hunt Club Meeting was £54 Is 2d. Owing to the unfavourable weather the totalisator returns showed a great shrinkage, only £3,704 being handled this year as compared with £6,859 in 1891—a deficit of £3,155. So the Dimedin Jockey Club have not had a very favourable commencement for the season of 1892-3.
