We have much pleasure in announcing to our readers that at the first meeting for the season of the Auckland Racing Club’s Committee, held on Friday last, the Sporting Review was appointed the Official Calendar for all notifications published under the authority of the Auckland Racing Club within the boundaries of their jurisdiction. The opening of the racing season was signalised by the appearance of the Sporting Review on the commencement of its third year of publication in an enlarged and improved form, and now official recognition has been extended to it by the Metropolitan Club of the Auckland Provincial District. The official column will be found

at the head of this article, and therein is published a list of the secretaries of the clubs which race under the Auckland Racing Club’s jurisdiction, and by whom, through the medium of the Auckland Racing Club, all announcements must in future be published in the Sporting Review in accordance with the Rules of Racing. We may remind our secretarial friends that to ensure insertion in the Review, published on Thursday morning, notifications must reach this office not later than noon on Wednesday.
