TARANAKI FOOTBALL GOSSIP.
(from our own correspondent.) New Plymouth, August 14. On Saturday last the final round of Cup matches way played. Clifton easily downed Eltham to the tune of 18 points to nil ; and Waimate beat Hawera by 7 to nil. The Auckland reps.’ visit is anxiously looked forward to. The committee appointed to select the Taranaki team have not, apparently, completed their work, as no names have yet been published. They appear to me to be a bit slow in their work.
