Trial Stakes. —Mr. A. McCausland’s Snowdon, by Nassau out of Grip, beat Mr. Wise’s Brilliant, by Red Pine out of Glucina. Supplementary Stakes. — Mr. Blackwood, by Ringwood out of Waitangi, beat Mr. Wise’s Carbine, by Smoker out, of Lady Lynn. < _. t i —r- n; Arawa’s victory was decisive, and Snowdon had a little the best of Brilliant, but Blackwood had nothing to spare from Carbine, many thinking he had not won; and the victory of Ringlet over Stormy Night in the Consolation was a splendid course. ni
