Mr. Bobbett and the trainers George Wright, H. Harrison, and G. Hope, with the following horses : Hilda, Cissy, Reprisal, and Fiesole, returned from the Dunedin meeting in the Hauroto. Quadrant was taken ill on the voyage, and was left at Wellington, but is expected up on Monday. On Tuesday, March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day), Professor Pannell, known as the “ water wizard,” takes his benefit at the Auckland Graving Dock, at 3 p.m. Though swimming in Auckland has been very much advanced during the past few j-ears by the exhibitions of the Auckland Swimming Club, yet we venture to say that this event of Professor Pannell’s will give the art an impetus never before dreamt of. With other events this attractive programme includes an exhibition by the professor himself, assisted by lady pupils. We hope that the professor will have a successful meeting. There is also a 100yds handicap on the programme, and we are in hopes of hearing that the record for the colony (74sec.) will be broken. ,' tl
