The Hopetown Cup of 300 sovs., run at Caulfield last Saturday, was won by the exAucklander Escutcheon, by Musket—Rosette. Mr. Douglas, the owner of Strephon, Rosefeldt, Waterfall and Kapo has arrived in Auckland. Mr. J. D. Ormond, M.H.R. has also come up to see St Andrew run, and he . will probably be the purchaser of some promising youngsters.
