OUR CHRISTMAS DUMBER.

The December issue is to be our Christmas Number. It will be considerably enlarged, beautifully illustrated and admirably suited to send home to friends as a Christmas Greeting. Amongst other interesting features we may mention descriptive articles of some of the most attractive spots for Christmas trips in N~ew Zealand, notably one on Rotorua, by Emily A. Parkes ; " A Cycle Trip to the West Coast," by Ralph Austin ; " The Northern Wairoa," by G. E. Alderton. There will also be a most interesting article on our Colonial Ferns by that excellent authority, Mr. H. C. Field, C.8. ; " The Evolution of a Midsummer Night's Dream," by Laura Stubbs, will delight all lovers of Shakespere. Domett and His Work, by J. Cowan, deals with that grand poem, Rauolf and Amohia, and will be characteristically illustrated. A Maori Legend entitled " The Courting of Te Rahu will be found especially interesting to lovers of Maori Lore. Several capital stories, etc., etc., specially selected as suggestive of the festive season will also appear. Professor McLaurin, M.A., LL.M., will describe the Wellington University in the Universities of New Zealand series. Elsdon Best continues his interesting contribution, " On the Trail of the Kawau Maro," and the Number altogether will be a most attractive one. Those desirous of securing extra copies should send in their orders early, as there is sure to be a very large demand. The price for extra copies will be 1/-.
