May 31. Golf. A most enjoyable day was spent on the Tahoraiti links on Saturday, when a team of golfers from Waipukurau visited the local club. After some exceptionally close games the visitors were defeated five games to two by the ladies and five games to three by the men. On the links were: Mr. and Mrs. Harper, Mr. and Mrs. Patterson, Mrs. Reid, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Broard, Miss Chambers, Mr. and Miss Hooper, Miss Smith, Mr. Peacock, Mr. Richardson, Mr. Hewitt, Mr Edwards (Waipukurau), Mesdames Prichard, Thompson, Baddeley, Nymand, Roake, McDowell, Misses Hartgill, Baker, RusBpll, Riley, Lecker, Buckhurst, Webber, Freeman," Patterson, Morgan, Messrs. Thompson, Cox, Neil, Russell, Booth, Drummond, Mason, Roberts, Norrie and Wells. Personal. The Misses Fitzherbert, New Plymouth, who have been spending some weeks with Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Fitzherbert, left for their home on Saturday. Mrs. G. Bickford returned on Saturday from a trip to Rotorua.
