HOW MUCH DO YOU LIVE?

Bobbie Smith is noted for his funny sayings. When he meets his pal Barker in a morning on hts way to business, Bobby has a smiling way of asking: “Well, Jimmy, how mueh do you live?” It is not: “Are you well?” “Are you in good form?” or "Feeling fit, old boy?” hut just, “How mueh do you live?” Jimmy Barker, and the other friends of Bobbie, usually laugh about Bobbie’s quaint way of inquiring after their health. It seems to cheer them up. They feel that Bobbie, with his mirthful eyes, and healthy rubicund countenance, radiates health. But that isn’t the real explanation. Bobbie L-, a healthy, vigorous man, alert and clear-headed, a happy fellow who wants everybody to feel as fit and well as himself. “Look at me, Barker,” he said one sunny morning. “Can’t you see that if you are really well, you are sure to be cheerful and happy?” Barker agreed, whereupon Bobbie promptly proved to Barker that any man or woman whose stomach becomes disordered is made despondent and miserable, almost every day, by such distressing symptoms as pairus after eating, headaches, biliousness, sleeplessness, nervousness, anaemia, constipation, furred tongue, loss of appetite, or languor. Bobbie, of course, did not forget to tell Barker that very few victims of indigestion would have all these symptoms at the same time- “ Anyhow, Barker,” Bobbie went on, “any one of these symptoms is bad enough, and tends to destroy the feeling of fitness that every healthy man or woman enjoys. “Take a 'tip from me, old boy. If you want to be well and cheerful, you can ovoid indigestion by taking Mother Seigel’s Syrup.
