‘ March 29. Tennis and Croquet. During the Easter holidays the tennis and croquet courts were almost deserted in spite of the lovely- weather, many people being absent at the Waipukurau and Feilding races and the Wanganui and Wellington tennis championship meetings. On Wednesday afternoon Mrs T. O. Kerr and Mrs C. Baddeley gave tea at the Rangatira Courts. Others present were Mesdames Russell, R. Robertshaw, C. Thomson, Patterson, MeAllan, Dawson, Harvey, Henry, Glass, A. Green, S. Andrews, Collett, Savage, Misses Young, Benzie, Caul ton, MaeKar.
Bridge. Mrs G. W. Wright and Mrs J. A. Robertson were hostesses at small bridge evenings last week in honour of Mrs Phillips, of Auckland, who is on a visit to her daughter, Mrs R- E. Bunny. On each occasion Miss Phillips proved the fortunate prizewinner. Personal.
Miss Fitzherbert (New Plymouth), who has been on a visit to Mrs P. B. Fitzherbert, left for her home on Wednesday. Mrs and Miss Barker (Waitahora) left on Thursday for a short visit to Napier. Miss Rowe. Australia, is staying with her brother, Mr R. Rowe, of the Bank of New Zealand staff.
