DECORATED TABLES.

Mr. W. B. Scott, of Aramoho, writes: “G.G., in his short article on ‘Decorated Tables’ in the last issue of the ‘Graphic’ has fallen into the mistake so many

have made in imagining that a decorated table at a show represents a dining table. It does not. It represents the centre of a dining table, and so, in that case, there is no necessity for placing plates on the table, and the decorator, if so inclined, can quite legitimately use up the whole of the table provided. I am sure, however, that the tendency is to use too many vases and to till them too full. It is wise, if you must err, to err upon the side of lightness.”
