February 28. Waerenga-a-Hika Fete. On February 20th the annual church fete was held in Air. Charles Gray's bush at Waiohika. The beautiful ferns and native trees .made a delightfully cool shade from the hot glare of the sun. The Vita Band played several selections during the afternoon. There was an excellent attendance and a brisk trade was kept up till a late hour. Kalil Tennis Courts.

The finals of the championship was played last Saturday, between Air. S. A. Gover, and Air. C. L. Alargoliuth. The former proved the winner after an exciting game of tennis. Afternoon tea was kindly provided by Alisses FordeMatthews and Robinson. Amongst those present were Alesdames Ala tide, Gover, Brooks, Adair and Barlow, Alisses Reed, Barry, Pyke and AlcCredie, Messrs. Burnand Schierning, Pyke, Hamilton-Irvine, .Simpson and Spillsbury.

Personal. Air. A. Rainbow, of Wairoa, is the guest of Airs. 11. Walker, Whataupoko.

Mr. C. P. Davies is staying at Mr. W Busby's, Tokomaru. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. de Lautour have gone on a visit to the South Island. Mr. and Mrs. Carleton Williams, of Muriwai, are staying in Dunedin. Mrs. A. T. Coleman is staying with Mrs. Griffith, Te Arai. Mr. R. Watson, who has been visiting relatives at Waimata, returned to Wanganui on Wednesday. Mrs. and Miss Murray are :>g with Mr. Stewart Murray at Ra! Mrs. Livingstone, of Hav ay, is at present visiting in Gish... Mrs. and Miss Singer returned to Napier last Wednesday A farewell luncheon was tendered by the New Zealand Alliance executive at Wellington last week to the Rev. Frank W. and Mrs. Isitt, on the eve of their removal to Dunedin, and to the Rev. E. O. and Mrs. Blamires, who are removing shortly to Hawera. The Rev. W. J. Connie, chairman of the executive, presided, and short speeches of reminiscence, congratulation, and goodwill were given by the chairman, Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson, Mr. W. J. Helyer, and the Revs, J. B. Finlay and J. Dawson, emphasis being laid upon the good work done and the self-sacri-fice made by the departing guests. Mr. Isitt and Mr. and Mrs. Blamires responded, expressing their hearty appreciation of the good fellowship they had enjoyed.
