Mr. Clemance, of the. local school staff, has been called away suddenly, owins to the death by drowning of his brother in the Wanganui River. Nunse Beswick and Nurse Bowen, of the local hospital, have passed their examination in anatomy and physiology. Mrs. Irwin (Wellington) is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Lucena. in Wellington Street. Mrs. Beswick has gone to Wellington for a few days. Mr. W. Gibb was entertained by the Cricket Club on Monday evening, and presented with a chain, on the occasion of his marriage to Miss Chapman.
