WAIRARAPA NOTES.
Mr. H. Nee lias bestowed the name of Destiny on his three-year-old gelding by Conqueror—St. Leger mare (dam of Sir Knox). The gelding has been in charge of T. Higgins for some time, and lg beginning to do nice work. He will not, however, be raced until the autumn. The ex-Masterton gelding, Gaelic, which was to have been taken to Auckland to contest the hurdle events, hurt one of his legs while running in a paddock at Palmerston North a few days ago. It is quite likely that he will not be put into work again in New Zealand, but will be taken to Australia early in the New Year. The Wairarapa horses Volatua and Gay Lass are engaged in a couple of races each at the Kaikoura meeting, on Boxing Day, and in three events at the Cheviot meeting, on New Year’s Day. Undecided and Big Blast have been withdrawn from their engagements on the opening day of the Wairarapa Racing Club’s Snmmer meeting. Mr. A. Reside, of Masterton. has leased the fillv Miss Ziska to Mr. J. Delaney, the Hawke s Bay sportsman. Mies Ziska will start in a couple of events at the Porangahan meeting. Fonnv has oome along nleelv since her return from Riccarton, and will make her next, apnearonne before the public at the Manawatu meeting.
