December 9. Gathering of Doctors. THE annual meeting of the Auckland division of the British Medical Association was held at the hospital on Wednesday. Special invitations were sent to country members, of whom a large number were present, In the afternoon Dr. Maguire acting-superintendent of the hospital, and Mrs. Maguire, were “At Home" to a large gathering of town and country doctors and their wives, besides a fair sprinkling of laymen. One very notable feature of the party was the number of men present, and everyone seemed to enjoy this charming party. After tea a large party were “personally conducted” by Dr. Maguire over the hospital. Tea was served in the dining room and the table was daintily decorated with sweet peas in shades of pink, piled up dishes of strawlterries making rich spots of colouring.
