THE SECOND HILL OF CONSTANTINOPLE. The seven hills on which the original Constantinople was built may still be traced, in spite of the changes in the topography of the city during the past 15 centuries. On the second hill now stand the Burnt Columns, the Mosque of Omar, which can be seen to the right.
