The photos snow the battleship-cruiser New Zealand, which lias been completed by the Fairfield Shipbuilding Co. nt (Jovan. The warship is to visit the Dominion next year, anil then returns to take her'place as a unit of the Home Fleet. It was first of nil decided that she was to be the flagship of the China Squadron, but recently the N.Z. Government agreed to the Admiralty's suggestion that the new vessel could be most effectively used ns a unit of the Home Fleet. H> The vessel on her trials nt Plymouth. l‘-’f <’apt. Lionel Halsey. K.N . who has been selected to take command of the battleship-cruiser “New Zealand. ’’ Captain Halsey was formerly Admiral Lambton’s lieutenant on 11.M.5. Powerful, and saw much active service with the Naval Brigade in Ladysmith. (3) A view amidships on the new warship, showing one of the turrets with tlie 12in. guns.
