The November issue of “The Review of Reviews for Australasia,” just to hand, maintains the usual high standard of this magazine. Problems of the Empire are dealt with in an illuminating manner. Among the special articles are, “The Death-Knell of British Railways,” “The Army and the Rural Problem,” "The Life Blood of the Empire.” There is also an interesting article on "Bulgaria and the Macedonian Problem,” by Monsieur Ivan Gueeholl. Under the "Book of the Month,” a review is given of Viscount Esher’s “The Committee of Imperial Defence: Its Functions and Potentialities.” The section devoted to the magazines of the month is very complete. The wife of an American millionaire has entered her husband for a prize offered by the editor of an Ohio newspaper for the Perfect Spouse. The editor, sad cynic, desired to prove to his own wife that the perfect husband does not exist. He has his answer. The blameless Mr. Pearson-possesses none of the formidable string of marital vices charged against husbands generally. In another quarter of the same free and happy land a wita is suing for divorce on the ground that her husband is too fond of her. He hugs her with too great frequency, and in view of the public, she complains. Thus, from a quite unexpected point, of view, comes confirmation of ths Onio editor’s contention that most husbands are bears. It may console him for the discovery that Mrs. Pearson’s is a lamb.
