November iGtb. Tennis. On Saturday, everyone was busy practising for the forthcoming matches. A dainty tea was provided by Mesdames J. W. Williams and E. H. Mann. Some of those present were: — Parjris, Callis, Traill, Dodgshuw, W. R. Barker, 11. de Lautour, I Line. Stock, Murray, Field, and Gully, Misses Black (2), Runciniann (2), Rees (2), Coleman, Dodgshun, Murray, de Lautour (3), Nolan, Williams, ami Hine, Messrs Matthews, Bull, Callis, McKenzie, Willock, Kissling, Grant. Smith (2), Barker, Bremner, Etherington, Nolan, Fulton, and Read. Rose Show. A rose and spring show, in aid of the Holy Trinity Church building fund, was held at the Garrison Hall yesterday afternoon. There were a large number of entries, and the hall resembled a. •beautiful Hower garden. A number of stalls were arranged on one side of the Jia 11. ’l'he stallholders were as follows: — Sweet stall: Z. and U. Williams, Faulkner (2), and Sherr.att; liberty and fancy goods: Airs T. A. Crawford, Misses Brooke-Taylor, and ice cream stall: Airs C. B. de Latour, Aliases Charles worth, Kingston (2), and Ack’ royd; tea rooms: Alesdames Turtin, Wilkes. Kissling, IT. M. Porter, and L. D. Thomas, Misses Runcimann (2), Claytoiij and C. Winter. Personal. Miss Dennison, who has been staying with Mrs 11. Ale Lemon. Kaili. returned to Auckland last week. Miss D. Bull is on a visit to Auckland. •Mr C. P. Davis, wh-o has been on a short visit to Napier. returned home on Wednesday.
