THE C.J.C. CUP MEETING—GOOD RACING AND CLOSE FINISHES.
Interesting racing and close finishes were a feature of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s Cup Meeting. The betting public was in evidence, and a total of £42,634 passed through the machines on the opening day. (1) (’up candidates parading in the saddling paddock. (2) Finish of the New Zealand Cup. (3) Finish of the Riccarton Handicap. (4) Midnight Sun. winner of the New Zealand Cup.
