October 26. Tennis Opening. The Anglican Tennis Club opened their Courts for play on Wednesday, when a largo number of members and visitors lyere present. In the absence of Mrs. Grace, Misses Grace (.3)' provided and dispensed an excellent afternoon tea. The ■fable was tastefully decorated with white lilac end roses of various shades. Mias Grace received the guests, wearing a wetly white spotted muslin frock trimmed with Valenciennes insertion, large grey hat with pink flowers. The opening of the Blenheim Bowling Club took place last Saturday, when there was a large number of visiting bowlers from the Riversdale Club and Picton, and a good attendance of ladies. The president, Mr. Claude Mills, declared the green open. Afternoon tea was provided by the wives and lady friends of the members. Mr. Hardin's orchestra kindly supplied excellent music. Canavan left on Tuesday for Wellington. Miss Belle Griffiths has returned from Wellington. Mr. and Airs. Frank Dillon have returned to “Teefield,” after spending a week in Wellington. Airs. S. Ale Nab is visiting her sister, Mrs. J. Dunean, “The Grove.”
