Mrs. E. Pickering (Thames) arrived on Saturday on a visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Webber. Mrs. A. Paul (Wellington) is the guest of Mrs. F. Cooper, Kaitoke. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bottrell are spending a short holiday in Takapau and Napier. Mrs. McNiekle and Miss Holiday returned from Wellington on Saturday. Much sympathy is felt for them in their recent sad bereavement. Captain and Mrs. Chesney, who have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. Rathbone for a few days, left on Tuesday for
'Auckland, where they join their boat on November 14, en route for England. Mrs. 8. I>. Lamb returned on Wednesday from a month’s holiday spent in the South. ‘ - a Mr. and Mrs. J. Armstrong, “Glengarry," leave on Thursday for Sydney, afterwards visiting Melbourne to attend the Cup meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Chadwick will be the first of the many Dannevirke people who went Home this year to return. They are expected in New Zealand about November 12.
