ROTORUA.
October 19. Golf Club Dance. The Rotorua Golf Club held their annual dance last Wednesday evening in the Assembly Hall. The interior of the building was prettily decorated, as was also the supper-room, where a delicious supper was served. It would be impossible to give all the ladies’ dresses, but a few I noticed were: Mrs. Hill, wearing a graceful gown of black satin; Mrs. Malfroy, black silk; Mrs. Groves, rich black velvet; Mrs. Kusabs, creme radianta; Mrs. Flower, eremo striped ninon over white silk; Mrs. Dawson, pretty pale pink froek; Mrs. Broughton (Nelson), glorious frock of palest grey charmeuse; Mrs. Moorehouse, creme lustre dress; Mrs. Rhodes, black satin, white chiffon scarf; Mrs. Maxwell, Mrs. Rees, Mrs. Parata, Mrs. Worthington, Mrs. Hally, Miss Empeon, Miss Lundon, Miss Mildred Lundon, Miss Malfroy, Miss McCarron, Miss Bates, Miss Pownall, Miss Flossie Evans (New Plymouth), Messrs. Flower, Donnelly, Curtis, Algie, Melville, Hobden, Holland, Brown (2), Rees, Broughton, Fannin, Hawkins, Jeffries, Hamilton, Dr. Scott, and many others. Farewell Tea. Mrs. Flower gave a farewell tea on Thursday afternoon, in the Royal Rooms, for Mrs. Carter, who is leaving Rotorua to live in Auckland. Mrs. Flower received her guests, wearing a pretty pale grey costume, large black hat with striped ribbon bow; Mrs. Carter, tailored navy costume, black hat with pale pink rose mount; Mrs. Hill, black costume, beaver toque; Mrs. Lundon, handsome black silk gown; Mrs. Dawson, smart navy costume, large black hat; Mrs. Moorhouse, navy blue costume, strapped with black braid, pretty black hat; Mrs. Ross, in a grey and black striped costume, black and emerald green hat; Mrs. Marsh, black and white toilette; Mrs. Rhodes, grey tweed costume, white hat; Mrs. F. Maxwell, navy Norfolk costume, Tuscan hat with scarlet ribbon trimming; Mrs. Broughton (Nelson), sweet pale grey
voile frock, Oriental embroideries; Miss Mildred Lundon, smart navy costume, 'black beaver hat with white osprey; Miss Malfroy, navy and black costume, black and blue hat, beaver stole and muff.
