October 19. Afternoon Tea. Airs Cooper and Miss Alexander gave a very delightful afternoon tea. the tables sind rooms being a mass of lovely Howers the self-coloured tulips in pale shades were particularly admired. Airs Cooper wore a beautiful gown of pale grey crepe de chine, the draped skirt had a slight train; Aliss Alexander was gowned in a smart frock of black and sapphire blue corded silk, with net on the bodice;’Airs Wray, black and white striped coat and skirt, largo black hat with coronation blue ribbon bows: All's Krull, black silk, with cream net, brown fur stole, black and white bonnet; Airs I’.-Krull wore an electric blue channelise robe, with cream net yoke and Oriental silk embroidery,
black straw hat with .ostrich plumMMrs John Stevenson, stylish black and white eoat and skirt, white hat with black silk bows and a spray of white grapes; Aliss Ida Stevenson, becoming pale grey erepe de chine, with a pale blue sash, large straw hut lined with pink; Mrs Harold wore a smart green coat and skirt, and blaek satin hat with green shot mount; Miss Montgomery Moore, dark navy coat and skirt, straw hat; Airs Kennedy (Wellington), smart, blue tweed coat and skirt, cream vest, small straw hat; Airs A. Wilson, cream costume, large straw hat; Airs Imlay Saunders, gley tweed coat and skirt, pretty grey hat with cerise and green ribbons; Miss Milford, navy blue serge coat and .skirt, with black silk military braid, black beaver hat with grapes at the side; Miss R. Fairburn, navy blue serge coat and skirl, with electric blue cloth collar ami cuffs, black beaver hat with spray of forget-me-nots; Airs Kerr, heliotrope coat and skirt, heliotrope straw toque with pale pink roses; Alias Kerr, pale pink crepe gown, large white straw hat with blaek lace covering: Airs Gifford Alarshall. black coat and skirl, black hat with tulle and feathers; Aliss Alarshall, mole coloured frock, and black and white ostrich feather boa, pretty blaek and white hat with feathers; Aliss R. Jones, pale pink voile gown, with eream hat and pink Howers. There were also present: Airs and Aliss Bolson, Airs Gill-Carey, Airs Braik, Airs McKenzie, Mrs Thompson. Mrs R. Dunn, Airs and Aliss Cowper, Airs and Aliss Brettargh, Airs G. Saunders, Airs Wall, Airs Armour, Mrs Anderson, Aliss G. Christie, Alias L. Williams, Airs Alorton" Jones, Aliss Alorton Jones, Airs Craig, Airs Ballance, Airs Stewart, Aliss Drewett, Airs Palmer. Airs James Watt, Airs Lomax, Aliss Nearne, Mrs A. Izard. Airs and Aliss Spenser, Airs John Anderson, .Alias W. Anderson, Airs Peake,. Airs Godwin, and others. At Golf. There were, a large number at the Belmont Links on M ednesday. Tea wan given by the lady members. A stroke match was plaveil for prizes presented by Airs Mcßeth. The senior was. won by Alias Spenser, and the junior by Miss Dymock. The .championship prizes w ere also presented, the senior to Alias Cowper, and the runner-up to Alias Parsons; the junior championship was won by Mrs Mcßeth. During the week there have been several afternoon teas. Airs Aledliurst gave one as a farewell to Airs Addison, who lias gone to live in Palmerston North. Amongst those present were: Airs .1 Stevenson, Mrs. P. Lewis, Airs Kilgour (Auckland), Airs I lay, Mrs G. Saunders, and others. Another tea was given by Airs John Stevenson for Airs Hey wood, of llamil ton, who is visiting relatives in Wanganui. Airs Gonville Saunders gave a farewell tea on Thursday, for Aliss R. Hawken. who is to be married next week. Amongst those present were: Airs Saunders, Miss Hawken. Mrs Wall, Miss M ilford, Miss Stevenson, and others.Personal. . Aliss-Ciivc, of Wanganui, has returned from j.ier visit to Pliininerton. ■Aliss M. .Cowper, of Dannevirke, is the guest'of Airs E. Gowpcr, in Wanganui Airs. Barnard Browne and Aliss Lindi' Browne left this week for Rotorua, From thence they go (o Auekalud. their future home. Aliss Jenkins, of,Mellington. is staving in Wnnganui with friends.
