September 28. Afternoon Teas. A very pleasant afternoon was given by Mrs. J. D. C. Crewe in honour of her guest, Miss Kerr. All wore badges, representing the titles of plays. The winners of the competitions -were .Misses Kerr and A. Burgess. Those present included: Airs. White-Scott, Misses Kerr. Avery, Wakeman, Grub, Stone, Burgess (3), Warren (2), Alextod, Falconer, Beard (2), Tulloek. Robinson, Hare, Cobb (Otaki), ami Aliller, On Friday last Airs. Corneilous entertained many of her friends at a geographical afternoon. Aliss Wakeman secured the first prize. Amongst those present were: 'Mesdames Burgess, Osborne, Lilley, Wakeman, Tosswill, J. D. <?. Crewe, C. Avery, Misses Wakeman, Avery, Burgess. Chrlateniug Reception. On Thursday Air. and Airs. Tosswill held a reception to celebrate the christening of their son. Those present included; Alesdaines Falconer, Bolton, .Shekelton, Dawson, Burgess, P. Tulloek, Thomas, the Misses Beard (2), Robinson, Falconer, E. Burgess, Warren (3), iShekleton, Anderson (2), Alessrs. Shekleton, Falconer, W. Tosswill.

The Misses Anderson (Christchurch) are visiting Mrs. Shekleton. Miss Af. Bain is the guest of Mrs. W. Miller, Ngatere. Aliss L. Warren,is visiting Wellington. Aliss L. Tolluck has returned from the South.

The .many ‘friends of Miss Stone will regret to hear of her intended departure to Masterton. Miss Aliller is away on a holiday trip to Sydney. Mrs. Fox is visiting relatives in Christchurch. Airs. Hugh Nelson ami family have been visiting ‘Airs. Douglas. Lady Gibbs is visiting her daughter, Airs. Thompson, of Ballance.
