Mr. T. C. Dupoivt, iinember of the United States Senate, has organised a corporation to erect on the site of the Equitable Life Assurance Building, which was burned down a few months ago, the world's largest office building. It will be thirty-six stories high, and will occupy an entire block in the heart of the financial district of the city. The site cost £2,800,000. Of the skyscrapers in New York, the most notable are the Singer Tower, the Metropolitan Tower, the Woolworth Building (under const nt of ion), the Rankers' Trust Company Building, the City Investing Building, and Hie Whitehall Building. All of these have more than thirty stories each.
