HASTINGS.
September 21. Flower Show. The spring flower show at Havelock attracted quite a number of people. The display of bulb flowers was very tine, a collection of seventy different varieties from “ Crissoge,” the residence of Mrs. F. Perry, being especially admired. Prizes were given to the following children who exhibited: — Floral design: Doris Hallet and L. Symonds. Buttonholes: Mildred Ridgway, Mary Crosse. Vase of flowers: IvyDavis, Madge Cowper. Afternoon tea was dispensed by Mesdames Holdsworth, Rich and Miss Couper. The following were exhibitors: Mesdames Fitzherbert, W. Douglas, Masters, Lush, Nelson, Sadler, Smith, Chambers, Williams, Tosswill, Holdsworth, Tanner, and Campbell, Lowry, Fitzroy, Mason, Chambers, Quartly, McLean, Macdonnell, Shaw, Bell. Among the spectators 1 noticed Sir William and Lady Russell, Mrs. Stead, Mrs. and Miss Lowry, Mrs. Bancroft, Misses Hewson (2),Miss Wheeler, Mrs. Campbell, Mrs. Tosswill, Mrs. Lewis, Mrs. Fitzherbert, Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. and Misses Williams, Misses Crosse, Mrs. Faulkner, Mrs. Chambers, Mrs. Gregorio, Mrs. Lush, Mrs. Fitzroy, Misses Fitzroy, Miss Williams, Mrs. Holdsworth, Mrs. and Miss Tanner, Miss Smith, Miss Hodge, Misses Duff, Mrs. Pharazan, Mrs. and Misses Maekersey, Mrs. and Misses Mason, Airs, and Miss Hoadley. Personal.
Mrs. Rainbow is leaving shortly for Wairoa.
Mr. and Mrs. James Landels have gone to Dunedin. Mrs. Fairclough has gone to Auckland. Dr. and Mrs. Bancroft have gone to reside at “ Stoneycroft.”
