August 31. Amateur Dramatic Entertainment, A crowded audience greeted the members of the Nelson Amateur Dramatic Club on each night of their production of the comedy, “Caste.” The principal parts were taken as follows: —Polly Eccles, Mrs. Leo. Afanoy; Esther Eccles, Miss Ivy Everett; the Marchioness, Mrs Topliss;' Hon. George d’Alroy, Mr. Marcus St. John; Captain Hawtrey, Mr Chas. Hamilton; Eccles, Mr. Dudley Edwards; Sam Gcrridge, Mr. I. McCabe; Dixon, Mr. W. Cooke. The stage manager was Mr. Marcus St. John, and the very efficient orchestra was under the conductorslrip of Mr. T. C. Scott. Among others present were: Mrs. Barr, Mrs. D. Auction bridge was played by Mrs. ■Barr’s guests at a charming little bridge party, to which several of the visiting golfers were invited. The rooms were gay with daffodils ami violets, and after the evening’s play a dainty supper was served, the tables being decorated with snowdrops and yellow jonquils.
