I? LOAfQU IST - JOI INSTON. VERY pretty wedding was celef I brated at the Presbyterian Church, Kati Kali, recently, when Mr Norman A. Blomquist was married to Jessie Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Air N. A. Johnston, Riverview, Kati Kati. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. Hunter Lennox. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty dress of ivory silk, richly trimmed with heavy silk insertion and fringe, and she wore the orthodox wreath and veil. She was attended by her sisters, Alisseg Alberta and Sarita' Johnston, as bridesmaids, and they were dressed in cream silk striped voile, and wore black picture hats. Mr Fred. Blomquist, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man, Mr W. Tanner being groomsman. After the ceremony, Mr and Airs Johnston entertained a small party of intimate friends and relatives at Riverview', and at night gave a da neo in the Hall, at which there was a large attendance. The wedding presents received wore numerous, useful and costly, testifying to the popularity of the young couple. The bride’s travelling dress was champagne cloth, with black silk facings, ami Wack velvet hat with BhanqVgnc lancer plumes. K EEBLE —AVALDEG R AV E. At All Saints’ Church, Palmcrsto.. North, last week, Alias Trixie Waldegrave, daughter of Air. 11. R- Waldegrave, Park Road, was married to Air. G. 0. Keeble, second son of Air. T. Keeble, of Fitzherbcrt. The Rev. 11. G. Rosher was the officiating clergyman. The church had been beautifully decorated by the girl friends of the bride, and was crowded with guests and interested spectators- The bride wore a bridal gown of ivory white charmeuse, the skirt open at the side to show an underskirt of white silk net lace; the bodice was trimmed with the same lace, and a cluster of orange blossoms. She also wore a tulle bridal veil, and carried a beautiful bouquet. Four maids were in attendance. The two bigger girls were the Alisses Doris and Sybil Waldegrave, the twin sisters of the bride. They wore white muslin frocks, with lace and insertion, the bodice finished with fichus and pale pink silk sashes, large white lace hats with clusters of pink daisies and blue forget-me-nots. The little maids (Miss ATarjory Carey ami Alias Mollie Paisley also wore white muslin and lace frocks, and mob caps with daisies and foyget me-nots. All carried posies of blue forget-me-nots and pink daisies. ’Hie bridegroom was supported by his brother, Air. Allan Keeble as best manAir. Ala u rice Waldegrave, brother of the bride, was groomsman, and two small boys in Eton suite, Masters Geoffrey Waldegrave and Cuthbert Barnicoat looked very effective with the miniature bridesmaids on their arms. After the ceremony a large number of guests were entertained at “Te Wanaka,” Park Road, the residence of the bride’s parents. Later in the-after-noon Air. and Mrs. G. C. Keeble left by motor for Feilding, the first stage of their honeymoon, and to-morrow they go to Auckland for a month. 'Flic bride wore as a going away dress a lobelia blue silk Irish poplin coat and skirt, with deep collar and culls of Irish crochet. JJer hat was white spotted net, lined with black, ami trimmed with cream ami blue satin ribbon. The bridegroom’s wedding present to the bride was an emerald ring, and the Li-ide’s to the bridegroom a silver cigarette case. To the elder maids the bridegromn gave peridot and pearl pendants, and to the little girls coral pendants. Mrs. If. R. Waldegrave, mother of the bride, wore black Bengaline, showing an underskirt of ivory lace; the same la< o was used iu trimnidng bodice; a l.irg' ll.i'k hat, with ivory loco ami two long black ostrich feathers; a bouquet of violets completed a Very becoming* to:loth*. frock of white muslin ami lace, with a pale blue silk sash, ami a large hat with ■black velvet and pink daisies and forget-me-nots. Mrs. Burton Waldegrave, champagne crepe, with eream lace and pipings of pale blue, large black velvet hat with black ostrich feathers. Mrs. Keeble, mother of the bridegroom, a black coat ami skirt, and black hat with black feathers. Mise ( ’arey, niece of the bridegroom, cream doth coat and skirt, cream hat with pink ninon bows. The guests included: Mrs- Barnicoat, wearing a slate grey toilette, with cream lace, and a black hat with ostrich feathers; Misa Alison Barnicoat, pale pink doth coat and skirt, black beaver hat, the brim caught up with a cluster of violets; Mrs. Tripe, saxe blue frock, elaborately trimmed with cream lace, large cream straw hat with masses of pink flowers; Miss Tripe, grey coat and skirt, seal hat with loops of black and cerise satin ribbon; Miss Mawhinney, navy coat and skirt, hat with lobelia blue ospreys; Mrs. M'orrah, slate grey frock, white coquc feather boa, grey hat with pink flowers; Miss Mor rah, navy coat and skirt, saxe blue straw hat, with brush osprey of same shade; Mrs. Moore, navy coat and skirt, black hat with naitural-tinted feathers; Miss Moore, navy coat and skirt, white fox fur, hat with black and emerald green silk bows; Miss Cargill, cream serge coat and skirt, large black satin hat with pale blue roses; Miss Turner, a long seal skin coat, and seal-skin toque, with cluster of blue satin berries; Mrs. A. Guy, navy coat and skirt, black hat with black feathers; Mrs. Webster (Wellington), saxe blue silk voile, with cream lace, small cream straw' hat with gold lace, ami duster of pale pink flowers; Miss Irene Webster (Wellington), a dainty pale blue frock, with pale blue ninon tunic, finished with blue ball fringe, and a pretty flower-trimmed hat; Mrs. W. Fitzherbert, brown coat and skirt, large hat with mauve and cerise flowers: Mrs. McKnight, mole coat and skirt, black hat with black Lancer plume; Mrs. Mpodie, grey striped coat and skirt, large hat with deep mauve flowers; .Mrs. Paisley, rose pink frock, the bodice finished with fringe in same shade, black hat with white wings; Mrs. C'. St. Peter’s Church, Te Henui, New Plymouth, was the scene of a very pretty and attractive wedding recently, when Dr. T. Rodgers, of Hamilton, was married to Gwendoline, youngest daughter of Mr. W. H. D. O'Callaghan, late Clerk of the Court of Dunedin, but now a resident of New Plymouth. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. Wilkinson, assisted by Rev. Mr. Kempthorne, while Mr. N. Renaud presided at the organ. The church was beautifully decorated by the friends of the bride. Dr. J, O’Callaghan (brother of the bride), of Napier, acted as best man. The bride, w>ho walked up the aisle on her father’s arm, looked very sweet, in a lovely robe of ivory satin, draped in ninon and exquisite Mechlin lace. The coirsage was embroidered in pearls and finished, at waist with a pearl and brilliant girdle. A lovely Limerick lace veil softly fell from a wreath of natural orange blossoms and an exquisite shower bouquet of stephanotis and maiden hair fern completed a charming bridal toilette. Miss Adams (Dunedin) and Miss Rodgers (sister to bridegroom, Blenheim) acted as bridesmaids, and they were robed in dainty frocks of white charmeiuse, with ninon tunics edged with wide bands of lace eaught up on one side, with sprays of pale pink chiffon rosebuds in form of lovers’ knots, black tagel hats wreathed with pink roses and also spray underneath brims. They both carried lovely shower bouquets, and wore silver beaded chains, gifts of the bridegroom. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a set of lovely furs and a dainty jewelled brooch, while the bride presented the bridegroom with a pair of silver-mount-ed hair brushes. The bride was also attended 'by Miss Peggy Griffiths and Master Wynn Griffiths, two tiny mites, the former being a fairy-like sprite in white book muslin and satin ribbons, while the latter looked every inch a page in white satin. Miss Peggy received from the bridegroom a gold liangle. After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride’s sister’s (Mrs C. Griffiths), residence. Mrs. Griffiths received her guests in a charming robe of pale pink charmeuse, with an exquisite overdress of Caririekmacross lace, black satin hat with lancer plumes and jet ornaments; Mrs. Rodgers, handsome pale grey chiffon taffetas, braided and relieved with touches of heliotrope, black hat; Mrs. B. Griffiths, eream costume, with lace yoke, black feathered hat; Mrs. Cornwall, sen., black costume, braided with black and gold guhnpe, smart black toque; Mrs. Standish, slategrey costume, toque en suite, cream lace scarf; Mrs. Sladden, rich golden brown costume, trimmed with brown velvet, spotted net yoke, Paisley searf, pretty brown hat with shaded roses; Mrs. D. Cornwall, navy blue costume, hat to match; Miss Stanford, heliotrope poplin, blaek feathered hat; Miss Harding, blue costume, hat en suite; Miss E. Harding, cornflower blue costume, hat to correspond; Mrs. Home, black and white silk .muslin, trimmed with blaek silk fringe, black toque lined with white silk and trimmed with feathers; Miss Wade, blue cashmere de sole, veiled in blue flowered ninon, white picture hat, wreathed with daisies; Miss G. Shaw, black velvet, cream lace yoke, grey hat relieved with blue; Mrs. Courtney, ’flack silk, black and white lace yoke and sleeves, blaek hat with feathers; Miss Mace, blaek satin relieved with cream lace, black hat; Sirs. Kempthorne, save blue coat and skirt, white hat, trimmed with blue; Mi-s S. Thomson, pretty grey costume, hat to correspond-. During the afternoon the happy couple left by motor, en route for Hamilton, their future home. The bride’s travelling dross was a very pale grey costume, beautifully braided, black
hat with large white feather, and she carried a dainty grey suede bag gold moimted. DOR I ZAC- BARBER. At St. .John’s Church, Wellington, on Monday, August lf>, the wedding of Misa Baifoer to Mr. Stanley Dorizae, of the Wellington Woollen ’ Company's staff, took place. Dr. Gibb was the officiating clergyman. Mr. Maughan Barnett played the Wedding March. The bride wore a gown of cream satin char mouse with ninon tunic and pearl embroideries; her •tulle veil was worn over a small wreath of orange blossom, and she carried. a shower bouquet. Miss E. Dorizac, chief bridesmaid, wore a frock of cream satin radiante with lace and pearl ornaments; her bouquet was of violets. The other bridesmaid, Miss Edna Malwood, wore a white silk Empire gown and carried a crook with violets. Mr. Eraser was best man, and Mr. D. Barber groomsman. A reception was held at the residence of the bride’s sister, Airs. Mahwood, at Karori, she wearing grey coat and skirt, -teg,al ha«t with shaded roses. DUNNING—BRUN SKIED. A very quiet, pretty wedding took place at the residence of Mr. C. W. Brunskill, Taotaoroa, on Monday, August 26, when Miss Elinor E. ( Cissy) > Brunskill, eldest daughter of Mrs. C. W. Brunskill, was married to Mr. Rexis J. Dunning, second son of Mr. J. Dunning, of Taotaoroa. The dinang room was beautifully decorated with ferns, white clematis, and lycopodium. The ceremony was performed by the Ven. Archdeacon Willis, assisted by the Vicar, the Rev. C. Mortimer Jones. Mr. Millar Dunning was best man. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty white silk gown embroidered with sprays of shamrocks and the customary wreath and veil, and carried a lovely shower bouquet of white clematis. Miss. Dunning, bridesmaid, wore a heliotrope silk frock with creme lace yoke ami shower bouquet of violets and clematis; Mrs. Brunskill, mother of the bride, wore a black silk, with white net vest and sleeves;. Mrs. Dunning, mother of the bridegroom, black silk gown, lace scarf, and black and white bonnet; Mrs. C. Brunskill, white silk frock, with pearl embroidery, black and white hat with’ feathers; Mrs. Overton, sister of the bride, green tweed coat and skirt, sable* stole and hat; Mrs. Seymour Brunskill, tweed coat and skirt and brown, hat lined with blue; Miss May Brunskill, a pretty white silk frock; Mts. Chitty, black silk gown, black and white hat J’ Mrs. Bruce,, black silk gown and black •bonnet; -Miss Attfield, amethyst cloth frock, braided hat to match, and sealskin coat; Miss C. Willis, blue coat and skirt and brown fur hat and stole. The bride’s travelling dress was a tweed coat ami skirt, and brown hat with shaded flowers.
