Dogs of War.

An interesting demonstration lias taken place at Lille of the prowess of the army ambulance dogs. These animals are trained to act on the field of battle after the manner of the police dogs. '1 hey- search for a wounded soldier, seize Ids cap. cartridge ease, belt, and kerchief, or anything they can carry off, and run with the token to the stretcher-bearer, who puts the dog on the leash, and is thus conducted to the wounded soldier. It was a grand sight to see how the dogs treated the supposed wounded men. In one case, a dog could not get the cap. and the same happened with the cartridge box. Then the animal espied the end of the man’s handkerchief, and, after tugging at it. got it from the sleeve, and away went the dog to the hospital attendants.
