A four-ball bogey competition (handicap) was played last week, when Trevveek and Hair returned the winning card with the remarkable score of 12 up on bogey, which, for this form of competition, can safely be put down as a record for the links. The following cards were put in:—Treweek and Hair, 12 up; AleKee and Wise, 5 up; McLaren and Burnes. 4 up; Jackson and Tyerman, 3 up; Richmond and Rout. 1 up; Robison and Afaides, 1 down; McCabe and Houlker. 1 down: Dodds and Dodds, 1 down; Wilmot and Davies. 1 down: Bigg-Mither and Coote, 1 down. The following are the results of the third round of the Captain's trophy: — Cock beat Dodds, 3 and 2; Dalzicl beat Monson. 1 up; Coote beat McLaren; Pollock beat Fell. 6 and 4; Richmond beat Bigg-Wither, 2 up; Rout beat T. Houlker. 3 and 2; Jackson beat Booth, 2 and 1 : Harley beat Squires 2 and 1: Scott beat Ma'ides, 4 and 2: Bushby beat Smith. 4 and 3: Treweek beat Dodds. In the fourth round the following nratches have been played:—Cock. J. H., beat Dalziel. 8 up: Booth beat McCabe. 3 and 1: Harley. C. J . beat Scott, 5 and 4; Richmond beat Rout, 3 and 2.
