July 2©. Farewell Tea. On Thursday’ afternoon a number of friends of Airs E. G. Stapp met at the residence of Airs L. F. Ball to bid goodbye to All’s and Aliss Stapp, who leave shortly’ for Christchurch, where Air Stapp is to assume the duties of chief clerk in the Telegraph Department. A dainty tea was served in the drawing room, ■which was tastefully decorated with violets. During the afternoon Airs R. McCallum, on behalf of the ladies present,
handed to Mrs Stapp a case of solid silver teaspoon*. and to Miss Stapp a silver bead necklace, as a mark of the esteem in which they were held by their friends in Blenheim. Among those present were: Mesdames Sinclair, Cheek, Corry, Furness. Shipley, Hardin, Ileffer, R. Furness, Hurns, Hogkinson, McCallum. Alisse- S. and M. Ball. Golf. It being the first fine Saturday for many weeks. there was a fair attendance on the Wither G ■!( Links 1.,.5t Saturday afternoon, when th? first round was played f>>r Mrs .1. Curry's trophy and was won bv M:*- McKay. Among those present were: Mesdames J. White. Maclaine. I.ueas. R-.lwood; Misses 11. McCallum, Fulton, D Horton. MvLauehlan; Messrs Hart. Wicks. Horton, Mortimoare, Parker, Churchward and Skinner. Personal. Mr and Mrs I). Strachan have returned from a short visit to Wellington. Miss T. Horton has returned from spending a few davs with Mrs Dillon. - Leefield.” Miss Vavasour has returned from her visit to Wellington. Mr and Mrs J. Dunean, ‘‘The Grove,” are spending a week in Blenheim. Mrs. Frank Bull is visiting relations in Wanganui. Mrs W. Bell left for Christchurch on Tuesday. Mr and Mrs Stapp are the guests of Mr and Mrs Corry.
