July 18. Tiie weather has been so awful all this week that any outdoor functions have been postponed. The golf match on Wednesday was not held. During the afternoon there was to have been a puttingmatch for a prize presented by Mrs. Montgomery Moore, which will be played for later. On Saturday at the Belmont links there will be mixed foursomes for prizes presented by Air. H. Bayly. Some Smart: Costumes. Amongst the smart costumes worn recently I noticed: Mrs. H. Marsack (Auckland) in a long black Empire coat with smart revets of black and white striped silk, black velours hat with gold cord round it, and Nack aigrette at the side; Mrs. S. Gordon, navy blue serge coat, and skirt, sealskin stole edged with fringe, and toque of the same; Mrs. H. Bayly has been wearing a beautiful long electric blue velvet coat edged with fur, and blue velvet toque bordered with brown fur; Miss AV. Bayly, navy blue cloth coat and skirt, cream vest-, black tur toque with blue rose at the side, and lovely Mack fox stole and muff. Personal. Air. and Airs. A. Izard, of Wanganui, are staying in Christchurch with relations. They have gone to the South to be present at Aliss Eva Izard’s marriage. Air. and Airs. Foyster, of Hawera, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. Good, in Wanganui. Mrs. Paton, of New Plymouth, who has been staying in Wanganui, has returned to her home. Miss G. Christie, of AVanganui. has returned from her visit -to Airs. Knight in Dannevirke. Mrs. E. Cowper, of AA'anganui, is staving in Wellington with relations. Mrs. Cave, of AA'averley, who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. H. Sargeant, in AA'anganui, has returned to her home. Airs. Medhirst, of Wanganui, who has been staying in Auckland with relations, has returned to her home.
