July 13. Dance. Miss Emma Robertson** third “Cinderella” dance was held in the Oddfellows* Hall on Friday night. It was an idea! night for dancing, bright and frosty, and everything went with a merry swing from start to finish. Miss Robertson has decided to make the next dance a “mask and don.nno,” which always causes lots of amusement. Amongst those present on Friday night were: Mesdames Rathbone, Hartgill, Mae Gibbon, Bottrell, Skerman, Nair, Quigley, Wallace, Misses Young, Hartgill, Irvine, Cowper (2), Mor rah (Palmerston), Baker, Greig (Auckland), Mae Gibbon, Chadwick, Knight, Coombs (Palmerston), Barry, Edkins, Burnet (Wanganui), Hobday, Herbert, Barker, •Messrs. Skerman, Bottrell, Mae Gibbon, Rathbone. Quigley, Harker, Wells, Tennont, Edw.ards, Robertson, Taylor, Norrie, Sieely, Knight, Pettit, Russell, Wellwood, Kelleher, Wilson, Barker, Edkins, Macdonald. Personal. Mr. W. Melville, who has been assist-ant-Clerk of the Court for some time.

Mr- Melville had several presentation* made to him, and .as h? was ever an enthusiastic member of the Hunt Club and the Operatic Society, he will be greatlv missed in Danuevirke. Mrs. L. Nair and Mrs. Wallace left for Wellington on Saturday, where they intend spending a few weeks.
