Hawera, July 13. Go*f. A team of nine players journeyed to Stratford last Tuesday to try conclusions with that Chib, but were* not victorious, Stratford winning by games to 3.J. Hawera were represented by Airs. McLean, Mrs. Foyster. Mrs. Kiimbell, Mrs. O’Callaghan. Miss Caplen. Miss Hawken. Miss Douglas, Miss Nolan, Miss Caplen. Tea was given on the links last Tuesday by Mrs. Gillies ami Miss Revell. Among those present were:—• Airs. Nalder,"' Mrs- Page, Airs. Suisted, Airs. Wallace, Airs. Worthy, Airs. Campbell. Airs. Hawken, Airs., Glasson. Alias E. Caplen. Miss Pratt, Alisses Young, Aliss Clapcott, Aliss Raine, Aliss McMaster, of Oamaru. Skating. The Dominion Skating Rink has been very well patronised all this week to see Professor Athos and Aladame Reade giving exhibitions of fancy’ skating. Amongst those present during the week were:—Mr. and Airs. Gillies, Air. and Airs- Johnson, Air. and Airs. O’Callaghan, Mr. and Airs. Nalder, Airs, ami Aliss Glenn, Air. ami Airs. Page, Air. and Airs. Holder, Mr.. Mrs. ami Miss Baker, Airs. Worthy., Airs. Blakeley’ (of Auckland), Dr. and Airs. Mae Diarmid, Air. and Airs. Hawken, Air., Mrs. .and Aliss Strack, Mrs. Wallace, Airs, and Aliss Harvey, Miss Reilly, Aliss Ahier, Aliss Pratt, Alis?s Raine, etc. Party. Last Wednesday’ Airs. Holder gave an enjoyable party for her sister. Airs. Blakeley, of Auckland, who is staying with her. A most amusing competition was held, the answers of questions forming a menu card. Airs. Sutton ami Mrs. Campbell tied for first prize, and in the draw the latter won- Musical items were rendered by Mrs. Blakeley, Airs. Raine, Mrs. Nalder and Mrs. Webster. Some of the guests present were; Airs. Dingle, Airs. R. AlcLe.au, Mrs. O. Hawken. Airs. (Dr.) Campbell, Mrs. T. Campbell, Airs. Bennett, Mrs. Glasson, Airs. Wallace, Airs. Pafce. Mrs. C. Bayley, Airs. W. O. Williams, Mrs. Bell, Mrs. O’Callaghan, Airs. Carey, Airs. Sutton, Airs. Boyce. Mrs. Thomson, Airs. Raine, Airs. Webster. Mrs. AlacDiarmid, Mrs. Nalder, Miss Pratt* Personal.
