The Wairarapa horse Bally Shannon ran a couple of good races at Otaki. and with better handling—he is a very difficult horse to ride —may have got closer to the leaders than he did. Mr. C. B. I’barazyn has altered hR inten tion to give Longstop a spell for th? remainder of the season, and the mar? has been placed in the hands of H. .Fletcher, of Tauherenikau. to train. If Longsten shows anything like decent form, she will compete at the Trentham winter meeting. Joe Ayres, the ex-Wairarapa trainer, has T.idy Kilcheran and Semaphore in g.M»I nick, and they should land a stake between them at the Wellington Club’s meeting next month.

Mr. f*. F. V’al lance, of Mast er ton. has deckled to sell Acrostic, which is a half brother to Solution. Acrostic is an excep tionaßy well-bred horse, being by Multiform out of Problem. The colt was pur chased as a yearling for a sum running into several hundred pounds. I’arewannt is turning out a good hurdler, end his stable connect ions are so pleased with his jumping performances at private ♦ rials that it has been decided fo start him for hurdle events at the Napier Park meeting. Though the Conqueror mare Walpaka baa been giving only moderate displays over ♦he sticks, she will be a starter In the Hack Hurdles at Napier Park.
