June T« Concert, Rosina Buckman gave an enjoyable concert in the Theatre Royal in the presence of a large concord of people, and the oft repeated recalls showed that they appreciated the excellent programme provided. Miss Buckman was assisted »>y, Miss Tua Bosworth (violinist), Miss A. Warren (pianist), and Mr. C. Larsen (baritone). Miss Buckman looked charming in a eream satin robe, with ninon tunie lightly banded with silver, pale pink roses in coiffure; Miss Bosworth, cream silk, pale pink roses in belt. Amongst those present I noticed: Mrs. Leatham, Misses Leatham, Mrs. J. Morey, Misses Ramson, Mrs. Foote, Miss Foote, Archdeacon and Mrs. Evans, Misses Evans, Miss Bedford, Mrs. Bewley, Miss Bewley, Mrs. Glasgow, Miss Glasgow, Misses Humphries (2), Miss Home, Miss Wade. Mrs. Baker, Miss Baker, Mrs. Devenish, Miss Devenish, Mrs. Perry (sen.), Mrs. F. Carthew, Miss Tayler, Mrs. W. Perry, Mrs. E. Griffiths, Miss O’Callaghan, Mrs. Freeth, Miss Hall, Miss MeKellar, Mrs. Wylie, Mrs. Paul, Mrs. L. Webster. A Dance. A long night was given by Miss Humphries’ pupils last Wednesday evening in the Brougham-street Hall, and was thoroughly enjoyed by those present. Amongst those there I noticed: Miss Humphries, blaek satin, corsage draped with blaek and white net; Mrs. Paul, black satin, with ninon overskirt inset with lace motifs; Mrs. Lawson, pale blue silk; Mrs. S. Webster, blaek silk; Miss Brewster, eream laee robe over satin, lightened with pate blue; Miss R. Clarke, tomato-eoloured velvet; Miss Wheatley, eream embroidered net over white satin; Miss I. Gilbert, pretty pale blue satin, with silver embroideries; Miss D. Bedford, cream silk; Miss J. Hempton, cream satin, with ninon tunic; Miss Ashdown, maize-coloured satin, veiled in cream ninon; Mrs. Walker, blaek satin with tunic effect, embroidered with wide cream lace; Miss Laing, pale green silk, veiled in net; Miss K. Watson, turquoise blue silk, with black velvet eeinture;] Miss Glasgow, grey ninon over rose-col-oured silk, cherry-eoloured roses at waist; Mise J. Elliott, pale blue satin, veiled in ninon, trimmed with silver;] Miss K. Miss Brown, matron of the New Plymouth Hospital, has returned after her seven weeks’ holiday in Auckland. Mrs. Whitton has returned to New Plymouth after her pleasant trip to Taihape. Mr. K. Bain (New Plymouth) has gone on a short visit to Tiniaru. Mrs. Cummings, who has been for some weeks visiting her mother (Mrs. T. White), on account of her health, has returned to Auckland. M rs. W. 11. Alexander and Miss. Phyllis Alexander, who have been the guests of Captain and Mrs. Mace (Okato), have returned to Auckland. Mrs. W. Leatham. who has been on a v isit to New Plymouth, has returned to Auckland. Mrs. G. Keblx-11. who has been on a short visit to Wanganui, where she was the guest of her sister (Mrs. Ranken), has returned to New Plymouth. Misses Penn, who have been on a visit to Auckland, have returned to New Plymouth.
