In honour of the Archiepiscopal silver jubilee of the Most Rev. Francis Redwood, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington, he was entertained at a concert in the Town Hall, and presented with two addresses and a purse of sovereigns. The hall was packed in every part, ami many people stood for the whole evening. Among those present we re the Prime Minister (Hon. T. Mackenzie), the Hons. W. D. S. Macdonald, H. G. Ell. and G. W. Russell, the Mayor of Wellington (Mr D. McLaren). Sir Robert stout, and the Hon. Mr Justice Chapman. In the morning the Archbishop celebrated Pontifical High Mass at the Sacred Heart Church, Hill-street, which was crowded to the doors. Subsequently the clergy of the archdiocese entertained His Grace at luncheon at St. Patrick’s College. (1) Reading from the left: Bishop Verdon (Dunedin). Archbishop Redwood (Wellington).
