Muy 11. Opening of Golf Season. A most enjoyable afternoon was spent At the opening of the season *»n Saturday, May 4th. at Tahoraiti. A large number friends and members attended, and .were entertained at afternoca tea at the homestead by Miss Young, ii the absence of the President of tin club ( Mr. W. F. Knight i and Mrs. Knight. A mixed foursome wa- arranged, ami was won by Mr- I'. 11. Lawford end Mr. Norrie, Mrs. (. Baddeley and Mr. <’. Bates coming second. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Law ford, Mrs. Tkuldeley, Mrs. and Mis- Cowper, Mr. and .Mrs. C. Cox. Mr. ami Mrs. L. Ward, Mrs. McLennan, Mrs. Itoake. Misg Hartgill. Mi-s Tan-ley, Miss Baker.- Miss Wiltshire, Miss Cross, Mr. and Miss McGibiHin, Miss Irvine, Miss Lawford. Miss Chadwick. Mrs. McDowell, Ab--r.-. Tennant. Norrie, Evans, Bunny, Flawkins. Bates. Ru.--ell, F. Knight. N. Green. Edkin-. Potts; F. Green. Dance. <>n Wednesday evening a pleasant little dance for children and adult* promoted l»y Mrs. L. Skerman was held in the Parish Hail. The object was to add to the fund in aid of Dr. Barnado’s Home, mid Mrs. Skerin. i. iiouhl fed pleased at the result of her . ‘Torts. Mu-ic for the dance* was supplied by Mrs. Cutfield, Airs. A. E. Green, Miss Z. Tanslcy, and Mi-- Ilartgill. Manx -mail p**oph» graced the tloor, and a very merry time they had. During the evening two of Mrs. Skrrman’s dev er little pupils (Miss M. Nudgewav and Mi-- \. Harney) danced a graceful mu n try dance, ami Mr. W.
