Tennis Parties. t Small tennis parties have boon given by Mrs. \\ ildiug. at Opawa, and Mrs. Leonard Clark (Sydenham). A Good Canse. Enthusiastic workers are organising a fancy dress ball for juveniles, which will take place on April 30 at the Art Gallery. the proceeds to be in aid of the society for promoting the health of women and ch ild ren. A Delightful Dance. On Monday evening Mr*. R.‘Allen gave a delightful dance at her residence, the Mill House, Riccarton. The house was charmingly decorated with flowers, the shipper table being entirely arranged with pale mauve primulas. Mrs. Allen wore a gown of black satin with corsage and short tunic of gold and black dewdrop chiffon; Miss Ogle, beautiful frock of sapphire blue satin, bordered with fringe and embroidered in black and gold; Mrs. Onslow, emerald green satin with overdress of black ninon, the train caught in with a tassel; Mrs. \V. Fok. pale pink satin with overdress of mole ninon; Mrs. Beals, pale blue satin frock with overdress of black tulle; Mrs. J. Palmer, white ninon frock with short Princess tunic of Irish crochet; Mrs. C. F. Ihomas, gown of black taffetas with fichu of black net; Mrs. Stevenson, handsome gown of cream guipure lace; Miss Cowlishaw, geranium satin with overdress of black ninon and bead embroidery; Miss Denniston, shell pink satin frock and wide cream insertion; Miss J. Campbell, Wright. Harris, and Dr. Stevenson. A Concert, A complimentary concert was given on Thursday evening at Hi> Majesty’s Theatre to Mr, H. M. Lund, the well-known C hristchurch musician. The concert wa.s held to commemorate the jubilee year of b.is teaching. Altogether the concert was a great success and a musical treat. Amongst the audience were: Mesdames Wilding. Crystal I. Reeves. Townend. Vincent. Lewin. Stringer. Quaine, Gardner, Misses Gibson. Loughnan. Devenish,Meares, Secretan. Taylor. Murray, Merton, Morris. Personal. Mrs. Wigram and Mrs. Beswiek (Christchurch; have returned from Mt. Cook. Mrs. C. Reid (Merivale) left- for Dunedin this week. Miss Barber (Woodbury) i.-» the guest of Mrs. Rolleston (Park terrace). Mr. and Sirs. Savill (Christchurch) have gone for a trip to Hawke’s Bay. Miss Griffiths (England) i> the guest of Mrs. Hugh Reeves at the D ?anery, Christchurch. Mrs. Howard, who has been staying with friend?, in ( hristchurch, has returned to Sydney. Mrs. C. Rattray (Dunedin, and Mrs. 11. benwick (Dunedin) have l»«*en staying in Christchurch. Mrs. H.
