November 17. Delightful Ball. The Canterbury Jockey Club held their annual ball in the art gallery ami in the Provinri.il Council Chambers. The roadway between the buildings, being covered in ami carpeted, made a delightful promenade. The ballroom decorations were particularly graceful, with hanging baskets of lycopodium and fern suspended from tin* ceiling, with the club colours.
