November 11. The Show. “People’s Day” at the show was brilliantly fine, and the attendance was enormous. (Mr. O’ftorke, of Auckland, won the hunting competition for the third year in succession, so wins the cup outrigbt. His win was very popular. Amongst the ladies present I noticed: Mrs. Dan Riddiford (Marton), wearing a navy coat and skirt, a narrow piping of emerald green, showing on collar and cuffs, and a burnt straw hat with pink roses and black wheat; Mrs. Arkwright (Bulls), rose pink coat and skirt, with black collar, large hat with white satin bow at back; Mrs. Jack Strang, white linen coat and skirt, hat with purple fruit; Mrs. Watter Strang, navy coat and skirt, braided in black, black hat with wreath of small flowers; Mrs. Hall, blue costume, hat, with white feathers shading, and pale blue; Mrs. Louglman, black coat and skirt, small white hat with black silk bows; -Miss Ijovctt (Bulls), cream coat and skirt, hat with pink roses; Miss Levett (Bulls), white linen coat and skirt, black hat with emerald green silk; Mrs. L.
