ROTORUA.
September 30. At Home. On Friday last Miss Pownall, matron of the Sanatorium, was “At Home” to a number of old friends and acquaintance of Miss Rennell, a former matron, who was in Rotorua last week on a three days’ visit. Miss Rennell has now been stationed at Hanmer Springs for two or three years. Her friends were glad of the opportunity of seeing her again. Amongst those present were: Mrs Malfroy, Mrs Empeon, Mrs Brent, Mrs Rhodes, Mrs Carr. Mrs Brackebusch, Mrs Robinson, Mrs Maxwell, Mrs Peace, Mrs Flower, Misses Smith, Empson, Hawkesworth, Marshall, Nurses Aieken, Purcell, and others. A delicious tea was served, and the afternoon passed very pleasantly. Personal. Miss McCallum and Miss Johnson, of Hamilton, are visiting Rotorua. Mr and Mrs Lysnar, of Gisborne, are at the Grand. Mr and Mrs Fisher and Mies Kerr, of Timaru, are here. Mr and Mrs Jervis, of Whangarei, are at “The Bungalow.’’ Amongst visitors at the Grand just now are: Senator W. L. Lance and Mrs Lance (of Johannesburg), Mr Grant (of Loudon), Mr Pelantaer (of Gisborne), Air Johnston and Mr Barton (of Wellington), Mr and Mrs Flowers (Melbourne). Mr and Mrs Nolan, of Temuka, are visiting Rotorua. Mr, Mrs and Miss Dalrymple, of Nelson, are staying at Waiwera House. Mrs E. Davis, of Auckland, is visiting Rotorua. Mr J. B. Thompson, Auckland, is staying at the Grand. RATA.
