September 20. Chililren's Dance. Mr and Mrs B. S. <Houston gave a ynost enjoyable children’s dance at their residence in Springlands, on Friday evening for their son Stewart. Two rooms Lad been cleared for dancing, the floors ibcing in excellent order. Delightful music was supplied by Mrs Freeth. A sumptuous supper was laid out in the morning room, the table being daintily decorated with yellow daffodils and yellow silk. Mrs Clouston received her guests wearing q, pretty black silk, relieved with creme silk lace. Among the young people present were: Misses N. Bell, T. Townshend, I*. Bell. Coleman (3) Grace (3), Mowat (2), Sharp (2), A. < hmston, Trolove (2), Pauline Bennett, Revell, Scott (2), Essie Farmer, Robb. Gwen Heid, Marjory M'cCallum, .Muriel ] nnes. Marjory Innes. Broughton (2). AVolierstan (2), G'Wen Griffiths, Barlows (2), Masters B. Horton. E. Northcroft. R. Reid, N. Brittain, Wolferstnn. Bell, ( tiddcn, Grace, B. Stapp, Arthur Griffiths, Vavasour (2), Mowat, Noel Clouston. Others present wore: —Mrs Bennett, Wack silk; Mrs Walker, creme silk; Mrs W. Clouston, creme silk: Mrs Satchel!, Wack taffeta; Mrs J. Mowat, pale blue n'lmn; Mrs A. Mowat, pink silk; Mrs Trolove, ‘The Shades," white silk; Mis* £k Mowat, heliotrope muslin.

Personal. Misses Bamford (2), who have been spending a short holiday with Mr and Mrs 45. Florence, have returned to Nelson. Mrs and (Miss Millington (Waimate), who have been spending a week with Mrs de Lambert, have gone on to Nelson. Miss Tendall left for Wellington on Tuesday. Mr W; Mcßae, “Altiimarlock,” is spending a few days in town. Mr and Mrs Claude Mills have returned from a pleasant holiday spent in the Pelorus Sound. Mr. and Mrs. R. Sharp have returned from the Sounds. Hon. G. H. Mills (Wellington) is staying at the Club Hotel. Mr and Mrs B. (Monro, “Bank House,” are spending a few days with Mrs W.
